FWHA develops, owns, and operates quality affordable and accessible housing for citizens of Fort Worth and Tarrant County with a range of incomes utilizing various federal, state, and local programs. Our agency currently provides more than 6,000 units of quality affordable housing and serves more than 18,000 citizens.

 Public Housing Wait List Openings

Housing Assistance Available

The Fort Worth Housing Authority has an open wait list for the following eligibility criteria:

1. Homeless College Students referred by Tarrant County College Visions Program – limited to 10 vouchers
2. Nursing Facility residents referred by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services – limited to 10 vouchers
3. Homeless persons referred by Workforce Solutions Project W.I.S.H.-limited to 10 vouchers
4. Homeless persons receiving services from and referred by MHMR of Tarrant County Homeless Services – limited to 20 vouchers
5. Current Shelter + Care participants who need limited supportive services as determined by their sponsoring agency case manager – limited to 30 vouchers

Interested applicants must meet eligibility to receive services from the agencies listed above.

 Housing Choice Voucher Program Wait List

The Fort Worth Housing Authority established the HCVP Wait List in September 2011 with over 19,000 applications.  We are currently processing numbers  1170 thru 1469.  Applicants who fail to appear for their appointment without notifying the housing authority on or before the date of the scheduled appointment will be removed from the waiting list. We cannot estimate when we will get to the next numbers on the waiting list. This information is updated regularly on this website. Please do not call the office for this information.
