FWHA partners with private property owners to provide rental units to families in need of quality, affordable and accessible housing. Property owners help the Housing Authority serve thousands of families in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program and receive benefits such as market rate rent payments and free marketing on a national data base.

Landlords and Property Owners

As a participating landlord, you are providing an opportunity for a participating family of your choice, who is in the HCVP program, an opportunity to become more self-sufficient, while receiving guaranteed rent.

As a landlord participating in the Housing Choice Voucher Program, you receive:


  • Excellent customer service from FWHA Staff. We appreciate our landlords, and offer many ways in which to make your experience a pleasant one.
  • Good Clients. FWHA conducts criminal history background checks on all potential Housing Choice clients. Landlords are able to develop their own selection criteria, as well. A participating landlord is not required to rent to a family that does not meet all eligibility requirements.
  • Low Vacancy Rates. Because clients are looking for quality affordable and accessible housing, a Housing Choice landlord may not frequently have a vacant property.
  • Direct Deposit. We now offer Landlords the option to receive rent deposited directly into a bank account to eliminate potential mishaps with regular mail. Click here to learn more.

    The Housing Authority has partnered with www.Gosection8.com, which provides an enhanced program to list rental properties on line. Listings are available to potential Housing Choice Voucher tenants seeking apartment units, duplexes, single-family homes or townhomes in the private market.

    Please note that all properties listed before April 1, 2010 on the Fort Worth Housing Authority web site must be re-listed and property owners must re-register each property in order to begin listing rental units on the new system.
